Cristiano Ronaldo Delivers Portugal Marches Forward at the FIFA World Cup 2026

Cristiano Ronaldo is 41 years old. He showed us again that being great is not about how old you are it is about how much you want to win and be the best. Portugal won an exciting game at the FIFA World Cup 2026 and Cristiano Ronaldo was the star of the show.

The game started fast with both teams trying to score from the beginning. Portugal had the ball most of the time. It was hard to score against the other teams defense. When the first half ended with no goals everyone was wondering if Cristiano Ronaldo would do something.

Ivan Perisic scored a goal for Croatia. That gave Croatia a 0-1 lead. Josip Stanisic helped Ivan Perisic with that goal. This happened at the minute of the game.

Something big happened later in the game. Portugal got a penalty because the other team did something in the box. This was at the 66th  minute. They used a system called VAR to check if it was really a foul. Then Ronaldo took the penalty. He scored a goal at the 68th minute. This was an important goal for Ronaldo. It was his goal in a knockout game and people will remember it. Now the score was tied.

Ronaldo did not play the whole game. He was taken out at the 81st minute. Then Goncalo Ramos scored a goal with his head. That gave Portugal a 2-1 lead. Rafael Leao helped Goncalo Ramos with that goal.

The game was very exciting. Croatia thought they scored a goal in time but it did not count. The other team said they were off-side and the special system called VAR agreed. Some people did not think that was fair. In the end Portugal. Now they will play Spain. The game between Portugal and Spain is on the 7th of July at 12:30 IST.
