The city is having a lot of problems with its roads and transportation system. There are warnings about safety on the roads and alerts about the traffic in different areas. The newly minted Mumbai Coastal Road—designed to slash travel times across the city—faced a major scare earlier today. A speeding luxury Porsche lost traction on the wet tarmac, crashing violently into the highway divider.

While the vehicle's advanced airbag deployment successfully saved the lives of both passengers, the incident brought traffic to a grinding halt.

2. Heavy Rainfall Warnings: The IMD Issues a Yellow Alert
The Regional Meteorological Centre, which is the IMD has put Mumbai, Thane and Palghar under a Yellow Alert for the day. This is not about the usual city rains. The alert says there will be winds and heavy rain in some areas that can cause flooding in low-lying areas.

As water starts to collect in some areas the transportation system in the suburbs is already being affected. For example there was a problem at Borivali station when a door of a moving train came off its hinges, which caused a lot of delays on the Western line.
The Mumbai-Goa Highway is also in shape because of the heavy rain. There are cracks on the road, which means the money spent on fixing it recently has been wasted.
3. The Healthcare Standstill: Widespread Hospital Closures Announced
The problems with transportation are being made worse by a disruption to the city's healthcare system. Many doctors in the area around 10,000 of them are going on strike for 24 hours starting tomorrow at 6:00 AM. They are doing this because some hospital staff were attacked recently.

Even though emergency care will still be available other hospital services like outpatient departments and scheduled surgeries will be closed. If you do not have a medical problem you should put off your visit to the hospital to avoid problems.
Mumbai is dealing with a lot of problems now including bad weather, accidents on the roads and a slowdown in healthcare services.
To stay safe you should drive slowly on the highways expect delays on the train line and put off any non-emergency medical visits.
